I think now is a good time to update you all on my fitness routine. I mentioned it at the end of 2014 here and now is as good of a time as any to talk about it!
First of all, I love Jillian Michaels. I have always enjoyed The Biggest Loser, and felt that she was both tough enough on the contestants, as well as compassionate enough. She helped so many people reach their fitness goals and besides some controversy surrounding the show, she is just an awesome personal trainer.
That’s why I decided to try out her home workout routine when I saw this Jillian Michaels review of the 90 day body revolution program.
To be honest, so far it is going really good. I think the meal plans are good and they keep me full for the most part. They seem both healthy and nutritious. I would like to get more food but that is the point of getting fit, isn’t it?
Then there is the workouts. Not every workout is my favorite, but they seem to really make a difference in my body and my overall fitness. I’ve tried other workout programs and this one seems to be working the best so far. I have been able to stick with it, both the food plans and the workouts, even though I sometimes fall off sooner than I would normally like to from a home workout plan.
Over all I thinkt the Jillian Michaels 90 day body revolution has been really good for me so far. I will keep this blog updated but I’m liking it very much at this moment! I am only 2 weeks in so we will have to wait and see just how far I can make it into the workouts and diet plan. Once I have results, hopefully I can share them with you!

Hello, and welcome to 2015! This year’s resolutions are pretty much the same as last year’s, and the same as the focus of this blog, which means I’ll continue to write about skincare, fitness, and life in general.
For this post I want to talk about my anti-aging wrinkle prevention routine. Although I’m only in my late twenties, I think it’s very important for anyone who cares about beauty and appearances to think about wrinkle prevention early on.
This is because the more you prevent wrinkles, the less you have to treat them. I got most of my tips about the best anti-aging products from http://melvinahayes.com/anti-aging/.
1. Use a moisturizer during the day
This is really important for your skin’s health. Many think that lack of moisturization is a big reason that some people get wrinkles. It doesn’t matter if you get your moisturizer from Sephora or Rite-Aid, just make sure you use it and get one with sunscreen if you can!
2. Don’t tan
Tanning is SO bad for your skin. On top of causing aging (that’s what the A in UVA rays stands for), it can give you cancer. To avoid both, just avoid tanning overall. There are a lot of products that are made specifically to help you get a tanned look without ever actually having to go into the sun. Use them!
3. Use a retinol cream at night
Retinol is an ingredient in skincare products that helps cells renew faster and has usually been prescribed in treatments from dermatologists to help people with aging concerns. Nowadays, there are a ton of creams that you can get over the counter with retinol in them. Melvina Hayes, which is my favorite skincare blog, has a great guide on the best over the counter wrinkle creams so you can find the right otc retinol for your skin. Some are expensive, and some are better suited for more mature skin. Just look at each one to see which works best for you.
4. Drink a lot of water, ALL the time!
Water is so important. In addition to moisturizing your skin from the outside, you have to drink water so you can keep your skin moisturized and de-toxed from the inside. The more water I drink, the younger I seem to look, even though it’s hard to get enough. I mean, there was even a lady who drank a ton of water after her doctor told her to and claims it took 10 years off her appearance. Now THAT is some powerful stuff! It’s also free.
That is pretty much everything that I’m doing this year to stay wrinkle free. I got some awesome new cleansers and moisturizers which is always fun, but adding the OTC retinol creams and water to my routine has really made a difference so far.

I thought now would be a good time to do a short update about my new skin care routine with current products. I bought some Missa essense and ordered snail cream from Urban Outfitters which I’m still waiting on. Until that comes, here’s a picture of what I’ve been dreaming about.. surfing on the beach. Sigh.
Hello Internet! Yesterday after posting about resolutions for the new year and discussing my desire for clear skin, I decided to research a new skin routine and came across the Korean skincare
method. There are a bunch of different products and lines to choose from, which are all pretty daunting if I’m being honest here, but at least the site did a good job of laying out the basics.
The number of producys and steps involved seems pretty over the top at first and I’m not sure if I will be able to stick to it, but I’m going to try it. I checked out the blog about where to buy the products as well and have ordered some to try on my skin in the upcoming weeks.
I love starting new skincare routines even when they don’t work! It’s fun to buy the products and try them out, though I do hope this 12-14 step system works. It seems very interesting and soothing. As if it’s a spa treatment in your home rather than just a skincare regimen or acne treatment!!
I’ve tried many face treaments before, including Proactiv, Noxcema, Neutrogena, you name it. Any and every moisturizer, toner, and cleanser under the sun has seen the light of day on my precious face. Hehe!! With this treatment, things are quite a bit different. There are many moisturizers and skin-improving ingredients in the korean cosmetic companies’ products. This is different from the American products we’re used to because all of our skincare lines tend to be very harsh and dry out the skin as they try to murder acne and wrinkles.
Korean skincare does the opposite and seems to be very nourishing to all of the layers of the skin. You use multiple products at the end of the face routine to moisturize, moisturize, and moisturize more! There are also optional masks to add on every so often, like every week or so, if you want to try out adding everything into the regimen.
So to get on with it, I purchased a bunch of Korean skincare products from Amazon and will be testing them out shortly. There are a lot of steps and products in Korean cosmetics so I’m only going to be adding a few products at a time to keep expenses down.
What is your favorite skincare routine, and does it work for acne as well? I saw that the same site about Korean skincare also had a blog about lush products
for acne, and I’m a really big fan of lush, so if the Korean stuff doesn’t work out I’ll have to try some of their other recommendations. We will have to wait and see!
2014 is quickly coming to an end and I’m thinking about a lot of goals that I have coming up for 2015. Every year I make a list of goals, but I’m thinking that this year if I make it public, I won’t be so inclined to quit early and give up.
Maybe posting this publicly can keep me accountable.
This year I wanted to find a better paying job and move. I was able to do both which is really nice. I love my new 2 bedroom apartment and my boyfriend is happy with it too. We converted the second bedroom into an office and that makes it very comfortable to work in and very easy to get work done.
We also got a cat named Freddie. He’s a great cat and we love him very much! I’m thinking of getting another but I’m just not sure if we’re ready for that yet.
I also wanted to get in shape this year. I tried using Sparkpeople but it’s very hard to find time to exercise and eat right, and it’s even harder to try to check in to a website every day. For the end of this year I’m just going to try to enjoy myself and stay comfortable with the clothes I own.
Next year for my 2015 new years resolutions, I will make a plan to get fit. I’ll post it here to stay accountable.
I also want to get better skin and just feel prettier overall. I know that might seem shallow but I think it’s important to feel good about yourself and I just don’t feel very pretty this year.
